THE BASICS
Full fibre broadband, also known as FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), uses fibre optic cables all the way to your home. Unlike FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet), which uses copper wiring between the street cabinet and your property, full fibre removes that reliance on the copper phone network.
This allows for faster download and upload speeds, greater reliability and more consistent performance. Full fibre packages come in a wide range of speeds, with some UK providers now offering multi-gigabit connections.
CHOOSING WELL
The best deal isn’t necessarily the cheapest. Start with the speed you actually need, then compare the monthly price, contract length, setup costs and any rewards or bill credits included.
Look at the total cost over the contract rather than the headline monthly price alone. A slightly more expensive package can work out better value when rewards, setup fees and contract terms are taken into account.

TIMING YOUR SWITCH
A good time to start comparing fibre broadband deals is a few weeks before your current contract ends. This gives you time to see what other providers are offering and switch before you move onto a more expensive out-of-contract rate.
March and April can also be a good time to shop around, as many UK broadband providers apply their annual price increases around this period. Major sales events such as Black Friday are another time to look out for new deals, discounts and rewards.
Quick answers
The questions we get asked most about full fibre broadband pricing, speeds and installation.
The best deal depends on what is available at your address and what you value most. Compare the monthly price, average speed, contract length, setup costs and any rewards or bill credits. Our featured deals highlight some of the strongest offers we’ve found across these factors.
Prices change regularly and vary by provider, location and package. The cheapest advertised deal may not always offer the best overall value, so check the total contract cost as well as any setup fees, rewards and price increases.
Full fibre availability varies by address, even within the same town or city. Enter your postcode into our checker to see the full fibre deals available where you live.
Full fibre, or FTTP, uses fibre optic cable all the way to your property. Older FTTC fibre connections use fibre as far as the street cabinet, with copper wiring completing the connection to your home.
It depends on how your connection is used and how many people use it at the same time. Rather than simply choosing the fastest package available, compare the speed tiers and prices offered at your address to find the right balance.
New customers are often eligible for introductory prices, rewards or other incentives that aren’t available on standard tariffs. If your contract is ending, it’s worth comparing other providers rather than automatically renewing with your existing one.
